Welcome to Ubuntu the other OS
We will be Walking threw the steps to get up and running with Ubuntu and just having some fun along the way. If you have any ideas or tips, We would be love to hear from you.
Intro to Ubuntu and Linux
An operating system is what makes your computer work, running all your programs and managing your hardware. Other examples include Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.
Now we could go into great detail of what Ubuntu is, but really it comes down to this. It is a free to use operating system
that allows you to do as much as Windows and OS X if not more in some cases. Now for those that are thinking why would I change from Windows Well for me it was simple money, I was tired of buying windows and started to look for something that I could use as an alternative to windows, but wanted to be able to share my work with windows and have the same programs or similar programs to use.

Getting started
The first step is to download and install the operating system. Here is a link to the download now before you start downloading make sure you get the one that right for you. look on your current operating system to see if you have a 32bit or a 64bit operating system. I myself would just stick with what you have.

So with the USB formatted Open up Unetbootin Now we want to look at the bottom and click the Disk image. Then click the select disk image file locate your .ISO file in this case it should be Ubuntu-12.10-desktop-***.iso. Under "space used to preserve
files across reboots and just change it to 9999, it will set it up automatically. Make sure that your Usb is showing and click OK.
give it time. When it finishes you will get a prompt to reboot. just close the program. unplug the usb and reinsert it.
OK Now you are ready to try Ubuntu if everything went according to plan. On the usb is a live operating system. give it a try
